Meet the Founder

Born and raised in San Jose, California, Erik grew up in the Catholic Church and attended an all-boys Jesuit high school, appearing to do “all the right things” from the outside. In 2006, he discovered endurance racing through his first half Ironman triathlon and quickly fell in love with the discipline, suffering, and clarity the sport demanded. Endurance racing became a defining part of Erik’s identity – teaching him how to suffer well, persevere through discomfort, and trust the process when the finish line felt far away.

That passion became an emotional and spiritual outlet in 2008 when Erik’s brother, Paul, was arrested and later wrongfully convicted of a crime he did not commit. After Paul’s conviction in 2010, Erik fell away from God and began questioning everything. He was angry – angry at God, confused by how this could happen to his family, and unable to reconcile faith with pain. Believing he could find the light on his own, Erik set out to carve his own path, which ultimately led to years of late nights, unhealthy escapes, and addiction.

In June of 2024, Erik found himself at a crossroads: continue down the same destructive path or walk away from the party lifestyle altogether. He chose to step away, moving to San Diego in hopes of resetting his mind, body, and soul. But despite the change in scenery, old habits proved difficult to break, and he soon found himself pulled back into the same cycles.

In the spring of 2025, Erik returned to church – this time outside the traditions he had always known. After attending his first service at Church of RB, something shifted. He felt a pull he hadn’t experienced in years. Still, the journey wasn’t linear. By October 2025, after another downward spiral, Erik reached a breaking point. Fully aware that he could not do life on his own, he cried out to God for help.

That same month, while checking out at a grocery store in San Diego, Erik saw Jesus on the cover of TIME magazine. In that moment, he knew – God had given him the sign he needed. It was time to fully surrender and let God take the reins.

In December 2025, Erik attended the Launching Pad through Champions in Christ, led by Steve Weatherford. There, he gave his life fully to God and committed to walking by faith, not by sight.

EndureMovement was born at the intersection of endurance, faith, and brotherhood. It was shaped by years of endurance racing, forged through the pain and perseverance of standing alongside a brother wrongfully incarcerated, and solidified through surrender to God. The first EndureMovement apparel drop – rooted in John 8:36, “So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed” – was created as a declaration of freedom, redemption, and hope for those still in the fight.

Today, EndureMovement is more than apparel. It is a movement for those running their race, carrying unseen burdens, and choosing faith over fear. It exists to remind people that endurance isn’t just physical – it’s spiritual. That freedom is found not in self-reliance, but in surrender to Christ. And that no matter how long the road or how heavy the weight, with God, the race is never run alone.
